Hiatus

I am probably going to put Singleecho on hiatus for a while. Our new daughter Ashley was born and is doing fine, I am completing my first week back at work after two weeks off supporting my wife and new daughter at home...There just aren't enough hours in the day to do everything I'd like and so I must make a cut somewhere.

This is not to say that singleecho is offline indefinitely, its just to say that posts will be few and far between. I am on facebook as most of this website's audience is also there, and so i don't believe there will be much of a disruption of communication between us.

As an aside, I like this JAWS system for blogging and running a site, but Kevin and Matt have both found bugs in how the site runs. This hiatus will also let the product mature (maybe) before I really move into posting on it full time.

In the meantime I would like to focus my efforts on another two sites Menthatcook and Purduecrows.

Menthatcook is a site run by Matt and I that is for recipes and articles about men cooking manly things or failing miserably at doing it. Regardless it is a chronicle site and while Matt has held up his end of the bargain by posting lots of things I have not had the time to do my share even though I cook quite a bit (Filet Mignon and ribeyes last night with a nice rub, a Hefeweizen brewed earlier in the week, a Balvenie single malt...not cooking but awesome enough to share a review, and bowtie pasta with homemade tomato sauce, and thats just the last week) So I would like to start focusing what time I have on adding content to men that cook and we would of course love it if you would add some too.

Purduecrows is a site for alumni from AXP at Purdue University. I have tried to make this site relevant over the past few years but it struggles because socially our alumni brothers are cliquey and generally social midgets. Most of them live on facebook and seem to feel that a loose and fun website for crows only to discuss news is too narrow in scope. It has also been a struggle to get the brothers who are currently in house to post news, and maybe thats where I should focus my attention for the site. Regardless Singleecho loses ground while I experiment and tinker in an attempt to reach critical mass on either of these sites.

So there you go. Have a good summer. Cook something and post about it on men that cook.

email me or brian if you want access to Men That Cook for posting. I need to post there myself, I've let it slide recently.
